Game day at Tropicana Field: parking, transit & tips

Tropicana Field parking, SunRunner and trolley options, where to eat before the game, and what to bring to a World Series game in St. Petersburg.

Parking at Tropicana Field

Big surface lots surround the dome, and most fans drive. Postseason parking may need to be bought in advance, so check the Rays’ current parking page before you go. Expect strong sun in the lots — October in Florida is still warm.

Getting there without a car

The SunRunner BRT and Central Avenue Trolley connect downtown St. Pete with the ballpark area. From Tampa, allow at least 30–45 minutes across the Howard Frankland Bridge in traffic.

Before the game

The Grand Central District along Central Avenue, a few blocks north of the Trop, is packed with breweries and restaurants. 3 Daughters Brewing and Green Bench Brewing are local favorites.

What to bring

The dome is climate controlled, so leave the layers at the hotel. Read the bag policy before you leave, and bring sunscreen for the walk from the lot.

After the game

Walk or ride up Central Avenue for a late dinner while the lots clear, or head back to the downtown St. Pete waterfront.

Confirm current opening hours, tickets, access rules, and transport before visiting.
